🌿 Earth almonds (Chufa, Cyperus esculentus) are a perennial sedge with underground tubers that resemble small peanuts. They are an excellent food source for turkeys, deer, wild boars, and other wildlife. Each tuber can produce 15–75 new tubers when mature, which animals dig out from just beneath the soil surface. The tubers are high in protein and fat, making them especially nutritious.
