Kumato tomatoes were first developed in the 1970s on the Almerian coast in Spain 🌞. Luis Ortega noticed that tomatoes at the ends of the rows, which received less water, were darker and sweeter 🌿. He used traditional plant breeding techniques to select this unique variety 🍅. Kumato tomatoes are not genetically modified ❌. Their exceptional sweetness is natural, due to a high “brix level” (fructose content) 🌱.
